Hanwei Paul Chen Gorin iaito katana & Gorin iaito wakizashi.
The Gorin iaito is a training sword developed especially for the practice of iaido, kenjutsu & other martial arts whereby a good qualty sword is needed for martial arts or martial arts displays that is un-edged. The blade is made of high carbon stainless steel making it stronger than most which are made from aluminium alloy and maintaining rust resistant blade qualities. However it is still lighter than a traditional Katana. As can be seen in the images the blade has a full length bo-hi with a beautifull hamon and a generous curve. Same is genuine ray skin with a black suede/leather Itto Make and cotton, black Sageo. The Fuchi and Kashira are in a brushed design with the fittings, Habaki, Seppa and Shitodome made of pure silver. The saya is black and has been finished slightly matt though not fully Kuroishime. The Tsuka is double pegged for added security. The handle wrap of brushed leather is supreme in grip and comfort. This iaito comes with a saya (scabbard) but we now have spare saya available, which of course may fit another or antique katana by chance and priced at £34.99 stock code is OH-5013S, please call Barringtons Swords to order the spare saya.

The Tsuru iaito is a training sword developed especially for the practice of iaido, kenjutsu & other martial arts whereby a good qualty sword is needed for martial arts or martial arts displays that is un-edged. The blade is made of high carbon stainless steel making it stronger than most which are made from aluminium alloy and maintaining rust resistant blade qualities. However it is still lighter than a traditional Katana. As can be seen in the images the blade has a full length bo-hi with a beautifull hamon and a generous curve. Authentic and traditional crane (tsuru) tsuba with matching fuchi and kashira. Genuine black ray skin (same) with genuine black silk handle wrapping (tsuka ito) and sageo. The sheath (saya) is part bound in genuine ray skin for authenticity from the koiguchi (sheath mouth piece) and the ray skin is finished at the kurikata (knobble on sheath). Silver menuki with authentic habaki with silver seppa and shitodome. The Practical Plus Iaito provides an economical yet authentic sword for the Iaido practitioner. Available in 3 blade lengths (SH6001IGC – 27” blade, SH6001IGE – 28” blade, SH6001IGG – 29” blade) to perfectly match your needs. The blade is unedged for safety and forged from steel for more precise weight and balance than an aluminum blade can offer. The blade is also maintenance free, providing a lifetime of practice without worry of rust or tarnish. The Practical Plus features genuine Same (Rayskin) on the Tsuka, with a tightly-woven cotton wrap (Tsuka-Ito). The long tang is double-pegged for security. The fittings of the Practical Plus are decorated in a Japanese Dogwood motif with dragon menuki, and the handsome Tsuba is of an iron “sunburst” design with a brass habaki..

Renaissance Wax as used by the British Museum for the preservation of antique arms and armour. With a 20 year shelf life (if kept cool or cold) renaissance wax when applied to your sword or knife lightly will leave a glass clear lustrous smooth finish, highly resistant to moisture, fingerprints and heat.
The Traditional Maintenance Kit (OH1003) is supplied with each piece in the “Forged Steel” and “Forged-Folded Steel” series and is also available separately. The kit contains blade oil, rice papers, an oiling cloth, a powder ball for blade polishing, a brass awl and hammer and saya shimming veneer. The kit is contained in a fitted wooden box.
Sword Oil (OH2110) is specially formulated to provide corrosion protection for high-carbon steel blades and other edged weapons. Contains Petroleum Distillates.

Due to demand, we offer high quality Sword Cases for your traveling needs. These sword cases are available in large size OH-2158 this will carry any combination of katanas or bokken and medium size OH-2159. They are constructed from black high-density fabric and the bottom of the bag is reinforced with thick leather. A shoulder strap and carrying handle are equipped on the cases for traveling convenience. Each case has two inside zipped-compartments for storage security and an outer compartment for maintenance supplies. These cases can hold a plethora of swords depending on various shapes and sizes. The two internal zipper compartments are ideal for storing your favourite katana without fear of knocking against your boken or other sword(s). The zip itself when closed can be pad-locked to a sturdy eyelet for extra security.
